This Deutsche Küche Pork Schnitzel caught my eye when I was finishing my Instacart order (save $10 here) this week and perusing the limited time section.
I was pretty surprised that the ingredient list isn’t very long at all. I decided to pan fry these in an OXO 12" non stick pan with this olive oil. I followed the cooking times and found that the schnitzels fried up nicely and were perfectly cooked. The breading was not soggy and you could cut the schnitzel with a fork alone! They were a huge hit in my house and incredibly easy. I’m inspired to make these at home because it’s rather simple to do. Just use a meat tenderizer to pound out the pork, season the meat, dredge in flour, then egg, then your choice of coating whether breadcrumbs or ground crackers etc. Then pan fry! But for a late work night when you want something respectable with minimal effort, I’d put these on the list for sure!
Served with: Deutsche Küche Mushroom Spätzle (review here), extra mushrooms, and a non-german themed salad of green and red peppers, cucumber, olives, cherry tomatoes, a drizzle of olive oil, salt, pepper, and crumbled feta. Rating: **** - Loved it! I’ll recommend this to friends and family any day!
Rating scale:
* - Terrible, would never buy again ** - Okay, but would not buy again *** - Pretty good; I’d get this again next year/season (We know how Aldi offers things for limited time each year) **** - Loved it! I’ll recommend this to friends and family any day! To Do List:Shopping List:
