Sanuks I own:
I own 3 pair of Sanuk Footwear at the moment. 1 pair I purchased and 2 pair were much later sent to me for PR purposes, to do what I wanted with. I decided to take them traveling also and you'll hear more about that later. I also decided to write a post comparing these three styles and tell you which are my favorite.
First, we have theSanuk Tailspins. These are a moccasin style shoe with a canvas upper and a rubber sole. You will love that the soles ofSanuk Shoes all sport smiley faces. Up. My. Alley. On the back are cute studs.
The footbed is EVA foam with anti microbial additives. They are incredibly comfortable straight out the gate and have a nice put together look to them.
The Sanuk Yoga Slings are wildly popular. The footbed is literally made of padded yoga-mat. They have a rubber sponge outsole, synthetic, and fabric straps to wrap around your foot/ankles.
These are very comfy, if you do not have any special foot needs. I like the design with the fabric straps and the way they wrap around your foot. The part that goes between your toes occasionally bothers me. Not the way flip flops usually would, it's almost higher up where the separation between your big toe and second toe meet the flat top part of your foot. When this happens, I just reposition and carry on. I have not had any blisters develop or anything like that. And, in fact, these are my current every day sandal. So.. it must not be that bad ;-) I don't recommend these on a rainy day... I personally find that when the footbed gets wet, they can be quite slippery.
I loved the tribal pattern of these Donna style Sidewalk Surfers. I went with the Olive tone as those shades are my jam! (PS, do you note the similar colors to my Coral Tailspins in here?)
These are slip on shoes with fabric upper and rubber soles. The edges are meant to fray. There are triangular elastic insets for a comfortable fit and "put on" of the shoe, as well as ventilating ports at the sides down by the sole. The footbed is also a molded EVA footbed with antimicrobial additive. When you first get these, they may feel snug. Just give them a good ol' stretch as you wear them around and they will fit nicely! I love the fun pattern of these and especially when I have a plainer outfit on, I love to funk it up with some bright, fun, printed shoes like these! These aren't meant, by any means, to be hiking shoes. But... I did actually hike Glacier Point at Yosemite National Park in California when wearing these. haha! TRUE STORY!!! So.. Which are my favorite?!
My favorite would have to be the Sanuk Tailspins!! I think they will always hold a special place in my heart since they went with my on my first trip to Asia. They saved my feet, they were so comfortable, they matched everything casual and slightly snazzed up. I prefer the sole of them over the sole of the Sidewalk Surfers. I find the style in general more feminine on me than the Sidewalk Surfers as well. The yoga slings are great and I wear them super consistently. I get a lot of compliments when I wear any of these shoes, but the Tailspins definitely have my heart! ;)
The only thing I will say is that there can be a little bit of stink issues with these shoes. So make sure you take care of them. Want to know how I clean them? Read on.... ;) Shoes Mentioned In This Post:
