With just over a month before we set sail, I am in PANIC MODE!!!!!
Why, you may ask? Why panic when you will soon be on a relaxing getaway to a place where the cares are few, the sun is warm, and the ocean breeze offers its lullaby to sleep?
Let's get real. It's winter. And in the North Eastern part of the USA that means it's cold, and I get lazy. I shouldn't call myself lazy because I have an extremely busy schedule. The problem with my schedule is that it involves a lot of sitting. Between my at-home job and my volunteer work/commute there I spend an alarming amount of my day sitting. I don't care how young you are or how thin you may seem, sitting that much is bad. And it does not look pretty.
Alas, I have started to make a more concerted effort to exercise. I always find it helpful when I have some sort of motivation like.. a trip to the Caribbean coming up!
When I start to exercise it definitely makes me more aware of what I am putting into my body. As a whole, I eat well. I don't eat too much junk food. I love fruit. Blah blah blah. But I am painfully aware of the fact that I do not drink nearly enough water. I skip some (or all) of my vitamins way too often. I could stand to eat some more vegetables and I don't think I get enough protein. Man.. now it sounds like I don't eat well.
We've been trying to incorporate a protein shake after working out. We started getting the Optimum Nutrition Milk Chocolate Oats and Whey protein powder off of Amazon. I really, really like it. We practically live off of amazon. This item is also available for Subscribe & Save which is awesome because it gives you an extra discount and if you decide you don't need it shipped, you can either delay the shipment or cancel the subscription. Easy, peasy!
I, personally, am in love with my Vitamix and prefer to make a smoothie with this protein powder after my workout. My husband usually opts for the shake. You know the little plastic cup with that insert that "mixes up" the powder?
So, long story short, when I was reading an article from my SmarterTravel email newsletter (my fav, more on that later) I saw this product recommended- The BlenderBottle ProStak. I was intrigued. It was a way to make protein shakes on the go, store medications/vitamins, use just as a water bottle, screw on extra storage jars for snacks or protein powder or whatever. It seemed genius for travel (I'm thinking protein shake on the plane since Spirit doesn't hand out snacks for free in-flight, but I am too strapped to fly any other carrier at the moment) and for every day life!
Last night I ordered it!! I ordered a Blue ProStak bottle for my Love, and I ordered a Blue GoStak Starter 4-pack for him as well as an Aqua one for me! I just got the confirmation that it has shipped via FedEx Smart Post. I'm so excited for the package to arrive. I hope he loves it (surprise!) and I think I am going to love the GoStak. If I like how the shake tastes then I will order a bottle for myself, but at the moment I have WAY too many bottles, whereas he has had the same bottle for like 10+ years probably, so he deserves an upgrade. ;)
As you can see from the top of the page, it comes in many awesome colors. You can order these from blender bottle.com or an authorized retailer like Amazon. See below.
I'm really excited for this and I will give an update as soon as I get the package in and put it to use! Let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to answer to the best of my knowledge!
I'm hoping this will be a huge friend in our pre-cruise efforts and a delightful stowaway on the open seas and abroad! :D
