What a neat idea!
People are paying a ton of money to buy their kids snacks in these type of pouches at the store. I think that's great because they want to give their kids healthy foods, but I think it's even better that they can do that AND save a ton of money wth this filling station.
The box is a great hint at what you are getting. It's a quality box with lovely details on each side of it, explaining the contents of the box and how to use it. When you open the box you find:
6 pouches size 4.5 oz
750 ml container
Silicone spout cap
Silicone seal for the plunger
Silicone non-skid base
So There are some really smart details to this product.
** The main container has a nice grip on the side and an attachable silicone base that really helps it to stick to the counter. I think that is very smart because as you are pushing down, depending on how hard you are pushing down, I could see the container flying and squooshi stuff flying everywhere. But having that grip and the non skid base would prevent a ton of issues!!!
** The plunger also has a silicone seal which would help you get everything into the pouches.
**To cover the container opening is the most adorable little plastic carrot. I just think its adorable. They could have just made a plain, boring cover, but they made it adorable. I would say just be careful if your kid is around that they don't pick it up and swallow it or something. But that kind of goes without saying..
**The pouches have a zip-lock seal at the wide end so you can wash them out. Just saying you could also open it at that end and put in other snacks like little crackers, cookies, or fruits. Why not?!
It's great that all of the parts are BPA free and Phthalate free, and both freezer and dishwasher safe.
They recommend serving immediately, refrigerating for up to 24 hours or freezing for up to 3 months,
As with anything, if you are going to freeze it leave space for it to expand as it freezes or you may need to replace your split bags!
Do NOT put these in the microwave. If you do need to defrost something you had in the freezer, put it in warm water.
Can I just say this would be a FABULOUS gift for a baby shower, expectant mother, or your friend who is ripping themselves off by buying remade pouches for their kids, hehe.
