As you'll recall, I was pretty stoked that ethical and sustainable Canadian fashion brand encircled was having great discounts on Black Friday (here) & Cyber Monday (here). (Learn a little bit about why I have been so interested in the brand encircled in my post here).
I have now received all of my orders and I want to give you a quick review of each encircled item, including 2 items I bought earlier this year from encircled. encircled Clothing Review:

I ordered the Wanderer Sleeveless T before a trip this summer which entailed about 6 weeks of travel over 3 continents in carry on only luggage. I wore this top *all the time* as it was super comfortable and looked great with casual looks (jeans, shorts) as well as dressy looks (a skirt & nice sandals). I am a fan of the length and the T styles well as is or cinched at the waste with a belt to add some more shape/variety when you're wearingthe wanderer sleeveless T again and again. I love it! One thing I would adjust: the arm holes being too big for my personal taste. I have to wear a cami under this t for my own comfort and preference. I ordered a medium, but next time I will order at least a size small for a bit of a better fit on me.

encircled Clothing Review: The Everyday Twist Top Review
Okay so I was tossed up between getting the infamous Chrysalis Cardi that started it all or The Everyday Twist Top. I went back and forth and back and forth and finally I decided to first try the Everyday Twist Top. Why? Well.. I wear cardigans literally every day of my life. EVERY DAY! It's part of my wardrobe uniform whether layered over a tank or tee for summer evenings or daytime when the aircon is blasting or over base layers in winter. Cardigans are a staple for me. So it made sense for me to invest in a superhero cardigan that would do some wild multitasking in my closet. (The Everyday Twist Top functions as a normal cardigan when you're feeling lazy or straightforward, but also has many other options!) I went with the beautiful Plum Purple and was planning on ordering size Small but the only size available at the time was XS so I decided to take a chance. As it happens, this is the perfect size for me. I'm sooo glad only the XS was in stock or I may not have been so in love!
As soon as I took The Everyday Twist Top out of the box I started playing with it. I know you're supposed to be able to wear this 5 ways, but if your creativity is flowing you can come up with waaaay more options. I spent way too long and got way too excited testing them out in front of the mirror before stopping to write this review. Well. no, I take that back. I didn't spend too long or get too excited. I think this is really how you should feel about an item you add to your wardrobe. If you're not that excited about a piece of clothing then maybe it's not the right purchase. *shrug* At any rate, I am beyond excited about this multi-functioning travel top (not to mention the ethics behind it) and all the fun we will have together. It will definitely come traveling with me, I will definitely be sharing some more ways to wear it, and I would definitely buy other colors that work in my wardrobe color palette! |

encircled Clothing Review: The Evolve Top Review
I waited forthe Deep Indigo Modal Evolve Top and it was definitely worth the wait! The color is absolutely beautiful and I can tell this top is going to get a lot of wear as it suits my style and lifestyle. I am petite and I ordered XS and that was definitely the right choice for me. I love howthe evolve top looks on both frontwards and backwards. I love having a high neckline with a drapey back silhouette from time to time. I think that silhouette on your back can look so classy and elegant. I do this with shirts I already have sometimes, but it looks even better with theEvolve Top because it was designed with this in mind as a style option. I can tell I am going to love wearing this top for casual and dress and adjusting the sleeve length and styles or use it as a layering piece depending on my mood, the weather, or the event. I would definitely consider adding other colors of this design in the future.

The Revolve Dress Review
I ordered The Revolve Dress in Bordeaux Red (really pretty color) and, ironically, I will probably never wear it as a dress. :) For me, the dress is a little too clingy at the back for me to be likely to wear it as a dress unless I had a long cardigan over it. That's just my personal preference and style. However, what I love about it is that I can get wear out of it as a top or a tunic! I love to wear long shirts and I found the fit of The Revolve Dress to look so flattering on my body type worn as a tunic over jeans. I can also see wearing it as a top with skirts or even wearing it in it's dress state with a pleated skirt over top, for example. I tried it on as a tunic and layered under the Everyday Twist Top and that would make a good combination for cold days where I live. I haven't yet tried the Essential Long Sleeve Top, but I like that the Revolve Dress can essentially be worn as a long sleeved basic with added options such as the versatility of varying lengths and of having the drape in the front or in the back! I would definitely pack this for travel!

The Reversible Pencil Skirt Review
|
I am a girl who loves dressing up. Don't get me wrong, I love being casual and comfy too. But there are many times when I will choose to wear a dress or a skirt even if the occasion doesn't require it. Still, as I try to streamline my wardrobe to more evergreen basics, The Reversible Pencil Skirt really caught my eye. A Classic pencil skirt that is two sided. That means 2 skirts in one - hooray!
Encircled's Reversible Pencil skirt is incredibly comfortable to wear, just... sooo comfortable. It is definitely a form fitting skirt. For me, I like things to be fitted, but not too snug. I also like skirts to hit the knee. I ordered a medium in an effort to have a skirt that wasn't overly tight and would hit the knee. The reversible pencil skirt is almost perfect! It does hit the knee, but as I walk it tends to ride up above the knee a bit. As I said, this is definitely a form fitting skirt so some may prefer to size up. I am glad I went with a size medium. As I find it a bit snug in the back, I strategically wear longline tops with it like the wanderer sleeveless tee which I add a belt to and then it makes a great outfit for me! Tip: You can also wear The Reversible Pencil Skirt as an infinity scarf (x 2 colors) or potentially as a strapless top (x 2 colors) so you can actually have 6 options in one with this piece which is awesome! |
