One of the quintessential vacation activities in my family is to go mini golfing. No vacation is complete without it. When my siblings and I were young, we always scouted out the best looking mini golf establishment on the strip and looked forward to going. Now that we are grown, we still make it a family tradition. Especially with young nieces and nephews, we want to make the same memories with them that we have from growing up. It can be hard to choose a place to go, deciding between the fanciest and best looking giraffes on the green or alligators in the lake (pretend, of course), or a cost effective option. Our group chose the latter. What They OfferMike Greenwell's has a number of activities including: * Batting Cages * Go Karts * Midway Rides * Arcade * Feeding Dock * Dugout * Mini Golf To be fair, I did not check out any of the other activities besides mini golf. Price Comparison
VerdictMike Greenwell's Family Fun Park definitely and obviously has cheaper mini golf rates. But the experience is no where near what it is at a place like Jungle Golf or Smugglers Cove. Golf at the fun park is basically just about hitting the golf ball, but the experience is basically non-existent. The landscaping was okay, but the greens were clearly dated and not well maintained. Many of the decorations were broken and even water fixtures were bone dry. It was kind of weird. Then almost toward the end you go by the Sports Bar and Grill which is clearly the highlight of the place for people because it was packed with people sitting at the bar with beers. It was all so bizarre.
If you have photo albums full of you or your kids next to pirates, walking across rope bridges with water whirling beneath, or around any giant safari animal while mini golfing and you're hoping to add to that collection, this is not the place for you. Sorry. Actually, I literally have no photos to upload on this post because there was nothing photo worthy (other than relatives.) If you just want to practice your swing, your cash flow is low, and you can have a wild imagination, then go for it. Maybe you'll enjoy it. Or if you're interested in the other attractions, it may also be a good visit. I don' know if they have any good deals packing it all together or on Groupon or something like that, but that would be a motivation to check it out. By and large, I was not impressed with this place and I would not go back, at least not to mini golf. (Unless they made a lot of updates) And I feel bad saying that because I love a good family business...
