If you're looking to get off your feet for a while and enjoy the sights, you may consider taking a cruise in the Bay.
If you're interested in visiting Alcatraz Island, you'll want to reserve your tickets well in advance because they SELL OUT. Seriously. Speaking from experience. Still, I have heard from friends that it is worth the price to do it; they really enjoyed the experience and found it fascinating.
Bay Cruise It Up!
Since we didn't get to do the Alcatraz Cruise, we ended up doing a the Bridge 2 Bridge Cruise through Red & White Fleet.
It leaves from Pier 39 (don't forget to check out the sea lions!) and goes under the Golden Gate Bridge, around Alcatraz Island, across to and under the Bay Bridge and makes it's way back to the pier. It's about 90 minutes and you can sit inside or outside, and they informative part is on headphone that I couldn't hear that well outside, but still... they translated it in a number of languages. It was interesting when I could hear it ;)
I mostly enjoyed having the wind in my hair and snapping photos. Do you like any of them!?
Which pictures are your favorite?! Have you ever done a cruise on The Bay?
