I did a little experiment to see how much some of my belongings weigh...
Packing for travel makes you think in a different way. If you check bags when you travel, the weight limits of 40 or 50 pounds stays at the front of your mind as you decide what to bring on your trip. But imagine that you had to pack all of your clothing into one or two of those bags. Could you do it? I was curious to know how much my closet weighed so I did a little experiment.
How much do my clothes weigh?
For a total of 80 pounds A few things to note...
Just a few things to note about this little experiment...
I recently read that the Average American throws away approximately 80 pounds of used clothing per person each year. Eek! I don't want to be part of that statistic, so I have been trying to curate my wardrobe to include clothes I love , feel good in, and are good quality so they will last. When I do get rid of clothes (I already have my eye on some pieces I just don't wear much anymore) I always try to give them to friends or donate them so they can have a longer life even if it's not with me. I'm a work in progress, as we all are. Gotta start somewhere, right? If you do this experiment, let me know what you come up with! - I am so curious!
