You should check out the beautiful Mae Fah Luang Gardens. Entrance fee is was minimal, I believe 90 baht. Supposedly the queen wanted people to see flowers from around th world and thus this garden was established. (That's what our friends told us) It is phenomenal. Not only are there amazing flowers in these gardens but it's also like a living museum where you can see how houses used to be structured, skills like wood carved items, and old fashioned swings, so many cool things here!
Outside there are food vendors. Try to find a hill tribe woman with food like this:
