Minimaliste Chêne Floor Plan:Slideshow Photo Tour of Minimaliste Chêne Tiny HouseMinimaliste Chêne Loft Bedroom:
Minimaliste Chêne has one loft style sleeping area. I like the way they have stylized it, but I would not choose to have this as my primary bedroom if I was having them build my tiny house. (Note: this is the customer's design and suited their customer's needs. I am just adding my own opinions of the design pertaining to my personal needs and preferences)
I also realize that turning the bed sideways can give more room in some ways, but I find it impractical if there are 2 people sleeping in the bed. It seems like it would be nearly impossible not to disrupt someone else sleeping if you had your bed turned like this with no walking area on the other side of the bed for someone to scoot out of. (Unless there is a little space between the bed and the far window that just can't be discerned from this angle.) Minimaliste Chêne Living Room:
Here is a view of the Chêne living area as seen from the far end of the house. A nice L shaped couch.
Below is a view of the dining area/kitchen/stairs to loft bed and bathroom door (closed) while you relax on the couch seen above. I like that the couch adapts to create a nice sleeping space for overnight guests. ![]() Minimaliste Chêne Kitchen:
I quite like the design of the kitchen. Great to have a window behind the sink always to make doing dishes a tad more interesting. Also I find I am mostly at the sink doing dishes, rinsing produce and chopping it next to the sink and stove where I am going to cook. So having this all in a row is a very useful design to me. Although I probably wouldn't have my good Bonavita coffeemaker right next to my stove where I am bound to splash it up with grease from cooking ;)
I like this view from the loft looking down over the kitchen/dining/living areas. Notice the nice sized refrigerator at the bottom if the stairs. Also, I love the wood in this home. ![]()
Another nice view above of the hone from one end to the other. Notice the cupboard space around the refrigerator, within the stairs, and above the kitchen sink and counter area.
Below, notice the hanging mirror folds down to create a dining table - Cool! Minimaliste Chêne Dining Area:
I really like this innovative dining area. The mirror on the wall to the left folds down over those barstools to create a table as you can see in the second picture below. Awesome!
I bet this wood stove puts off cozy heat in this home..
Minimaliste Chêne Bathroom:
View of the bathroom from the living area:
A narrow ikea sink vanity has been installed in this home. I have never used one of these before and always wonder if it would feel too narrow on the daily, or if it is actually "just right". I think it would take some adjustment getting used to the faucet being at the left and not centered on the sink.
I think the shelving here is fabulous. It gives you a perfect place to neatly store and display your towels, toilet paper, and so on.
A nice soaking tub has been installed in this Chêne model. I don't really do the whole bath thing. So I would go with a shower, personally.
Below you can see the nature's head composting toilet which is very popular among tiny housers and some more handy built in shelving. Maybe I would put the toilet paper on these shelves instead!
Below is a cool idea to hide the water heater. I wonder if it will be a hassle when it needs replaced or if it needs serviced, though.. Minimaliste Chêne Stairs:
I think the stairs are great on the Chêne! There is storage under all the stairs, but the bottom two stairs have a unique design. As you can see in the 3 photos below, the stairs pull out and you can access drawer space easily! Cool design.
