Ricky’s NYC Cult Crushes Beauty Subscription Box - Clean & Gleam Box Unboxing & Review May 20185/17/2018 Have you heard of the Cult Crushes Box? I only recently heard of this box and I think it was on one of Alexandria Ryan‘s YouTube videos. I started researching this subscription ($11, raising to $14 in June) and the box seemed incredible. I hopped on the waiting list in March, the April box was already sold out, but I got in for the May box and it just came today! Let’s Unbox! My ThoughtsSo far I have heard a lot of flack on line toward this month’s box. A lot of people seem disappointed and I think a lot of people expected a full shadow palette as some previous months did. Others commented that the billing and shipping for the month were late and that the customer service isn’t as prompt as other competing subscription services like ipsy. Finally, a lot of people are up in arms that the price is going up to $14 next month instead of $11. Bearing all of that in mind, Am I disappointed with my first Cult Crushes box? Not really. I am quite pleased with the box! I wouldn’t say I was absolutely floored and blown away with the box that I need to scream it from the rooftop, but the box is definitely a great value and I will get use out of the products which is a key detail! So here’s the deal... About the Bioderma Sensibio H20 Makeup Removing water... I don’t generally purchase micellar waters / make up removing water. That’s not something in my routine. In fact, I use some microfiber makeup removing cloths from amazon and also the Norwex make up removing cloths. They all do a good job of clearing makeup with just regular water and I am happy with that routine. Even though I don’t regularly purchase an item like this, I will still definitely use it until it’s done and see what I think! The bh mini sculpt and blend brush set is adorable. It’s mini in size and in quantity. There are 3 brushes and the quality feels pretty nice. I am anxious to try them and I have been wanting to collect a set of brushes to permanently leave with my travel luggage, so it would be awesome if this would be a start to that! The J Cat liquid highlight, again not a product I purchase as I usually just use powder highlights I already own, is actually really pretty. The highlighter is infused with argan oil which I love. The shade Crystal Sand is pretty and I patted some on my cheeks, décolleté, inner corner of the eyes and even some on my lips. You can make this a versatile product! The Paw Paw ointment is another versatile product with natural fruit extracts. You can use it for moisturizing your skin, but also for your lips. I popped it right on my lips. It has the same consistency as Vaseline (because there is petroleum in it, which some people may not like) but with the uplifting edition of fresh watermelon flavor and scent! I often put Vaseline on before bed to wake up with super moisturized lips, so this can do the same! Finally, the Wash & Stain Bar again seemed underwhelming to some people, but for me I am actually quite STOKED! It’s supposed to have a great track record for cleaning stubborn areas like armpit sweat stains, collar stains, straps and so on when handwashing. This is a *perfect* item for upcoming travel. Since it’s a bar, I don’t have to try to shove it into my TSA Approved liquids bag. It can do a lot more washing than if I packed a little bit of liquid soap in my bag. I’m eager to try it on my next adventure and then I can report back! Oh and a side note, your subscription to Ricky’s NYC Cult Crushes Box also entitles you to a 25% discount every day on Ricky’s NYC purchases which is a nice perk because they have a wide range of products. What do you think? Was this box worth $11?Tags: Cult Crushes Review, Cult Crushes Subscription Box, Beauty Subscription Box, Rickys NYC Subscription Box Review, Is Cult Crushes a good box?
