1. The Duchess Bierhaus
Located on Main Street you will find this cute little not-to-be-missed restaurant. Highly recommended are the chicken and waffles sandwich, the Brussels and bacon. We also enjoyed the pretzel and beer cheese dip. The salad and chili were given the thumbs up by our friend. The salad was a very nice size and the dressing was excellent. The chili had a slight kick and came with a few pieces of bread! They have a wide variety of beers to try and if you can try the Cherry one, let me know what you think. I loved it!
I would love to return and try the poutine because ... duh.
Side Note: I told the girl when I ordered that I was so excited. She said “You should be”. I already knew it was going to be good, but those 3 words confirmed it.
2. Golden Buddah
If you love Thai you will enjoy visiting this restaurant also located on Main Street. The owners are an incredible sweet young couple who I enjoyed chatting with. I always love Pad Kee Mao and I tried their Pad grapaw. It was different than I had before, but still delightful with lots of nice veggie slices. So many dishes have their own twist depending on the region of Thailand that the recipe comes from.
3. Five Guys
Because... five guys. Always a hit, a perfect spot to grab a bite after a long travel day. You get your food quick, it’s a quality burger and this location has milkshakes. Say what?! With unlimited mix-ins. SayWhat?! And bacon is an option! SAY WHAT!?!?! Yeah. This is a great option.
4. Tanjore Indian Cuisine
This place appears to do a lot of take out or else we just went on a slow night. It was nice having the dining space largely to ourselves ;) aside from takeout orders running in and out. The food was quite nice and we enjoyed Masala Chai, Chicken Tikka Masala, Samosas, and it’s nice to know they have some children’s junk food (chicken nuggets, cheese sticks etc lol) for any picky eaters on board.
5. Hudson Valley Gyro
If you like Greek food don’t miss this place! We got Gyros, Spinach pie, Greek Fries, and Baklava and it was all delightful!
Where else would you recommend in the area?
