The room.
For just 5,000 Hyatt Points I was able to reserve a room with 2 large, queen-sized beds. The rooms also include a nightstand between the beds (The lamp is very obtrusive and takes up most of the surface space unfortunately, although it does have some outlets built in), a chair, a desk area with a chair, a TV with dresser, closet for hanging clothes, and a bathroom with a spacious counter, toilet, and walk-in shower.
I believe for 8,000 points you could reserve one of their suites that has a kitchenette and separated bedroom! The breakfast.
The breakfast included the usual basic things: some warmers with eggs, sausage, bacon, bread for toast, oatmeal, cereal, fresh fruit, milk, juice, coffee, and tea. The shining star of the breakfast was the omelet station. Every day there was a featured omelet or you could request any ingredients you wanted and they would cook it up fresh for you. Each morning I stayed here I ate an omelet, fresh cut fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew, and pineapple when I was there), and some coffee which was just okay. The coffee needed to be stronger. I am a lover of an intense cup of joe, though. They had awesome Tazo teas available, though! So I started to get that each day. The Tazo Zen tea is one of my favorites - green tea with lemongrass and spearmint!
The staff.
Some of the staff at the front desk was super friendly and others a little less so. The ladies making the omelets quickly became my favorite as I saw the same ladies each day and enjoyed small talk with them as they made my omelet.
The pool.
There is a pool and hot tub at this hotel. This area could use some refreshing. The hot tub jets did not work well, but it was nice and warm so... there was that. For a child, this area is no problem. Any pool is a great pool! For an adult.. I don’t know. It just wasn’t the most inviting pool I have been to.
The amenities.
This hotel has some really nice features:
Stay free.
I stayed FREE at this Hyatt House Fishkill/ Poughkeepsie location by using my Hyatt points. I earned 40,000 Hyatt Bonus Points when I got the Chase World of Hyatt card. Like I said, this room cost just 5,000 points per night. Meaning I could get up to 8 nights of free hotel stay (depending on location of course) with my sign up bonus points. You can also use Chase Ultimate Rewards Points and send them to your Hyatt account to book rooms.
