Where to Park Canada Niagara Falls + Toronto Weekend Getaway Guide
If you are arriving by car, you will be wondering what the deal is with parking at Niagara Falls. There are some free parking lots, but the vast majority of your parking choices are going to be paid. Niagara Falls Tourism has a great resource listing all the parking options and will no doubt stay up-to-date.
Why Visit Niagara Falls | Canada Niagara Falls + Toronto Weekend Getaway Guide
Niagara Falls is a stunning natural wonder to behold. The immense set of three waterfalls (Horseshoe Falls - [aka Canadian Falls], American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls) have the highest flow rate of any waterfall in North America. It’s a beautiful and humbling experience to hear the rush of water from these tremendous waterfalls and imagine the constant power behind that. Not only are the falls beautiful, but they are also a natural source of hydroelectricity. According to infoniagara.com, “Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant and the Lewiston Pump Generator Plant, with a combined 25 turbines generates up to 2.6 million kilowatts of energy.” That sounds like a lot of natural energy to me! :)
If you have school aged kids this would be a great place to visit as a homeschool or public school field trip or family “education” trip. Yes, when I was growing up, every vacation had to be labeled as an “educational trip” to get your absence excused. I learned oh so much that year we went to Disney world...... bahaha. Galleria at Fallsview Casino | Canada Niagara Falls + Toronto Weekend Getaway Guide
One parking option is found within the Fallsview Casino Resort. You do not need to gamble to park here or enjoy the amenities. In addition to parking, there is a Resort you can stay at, spa treatments for the booking, and a number of Galleria shops to check out as well as restaurants to dine at. We opted to eat at a nearby Irish Pub & Restaurant called Doc Magilliagan’s. It was only about a mile and a half away and an excellent decision.
