Here are some tips so you can have a successful cruise!
15 Tips for Cruising
Read the Schedule for the next day when you get it each evening. Highlight things you really want to do so you can plan your day. Don’t try to do too much or you will get tired and you simply can’t do everything anyway. (See Sample Schedules Here)
Be flexible regarding your travel group’s preferences. If possible, when one person wants to watch “Family Fued” in the atrium, another could be viewing the fine art. Make clear plans of when and wear to meet up again later.

Bring some snacks from home. When you’re off ship and in port, you will get hungry. Eating local food and drink is a great part of travel, but it can get expensive. Having some basic granola bars, or clif bars and a refillable water bottle you can fill on the ship before you leave can hold you over and keep you hydrated until you get back on board.
Don’t pack so much. You will mostly be lounging by a pool or a beach and just need a coverup to go into the buffet. Otherwise you need pajamas, casual outfit for walking around the ship or port, and some nicer clothes if you choose to go in the dining room. I packed everything including skirts and long dresses into carry on bags only! You can do it!
Wear sunscreen. Don’t go getting yourself burned on the open sea & ruining your port days :(
Yes, you can buy internet access, but don’t. Use this time to disconnect, unwind, and be present with your friends and family. I realize you may have to check in at some point. So look for wifi at your ports.
How can you find wifi at the ports? Hint: look for large groups of cruise ships workers standing or sitting on sidewalks and stairs. Ask a cruise ship worker. They know where to find wifi at each port because this is their primary opportunity to check in with their friends and family at home, likely thousands of miles away.
Pre-book your excursions. The cruise ships offer many great excursions which can be convenient, but they tend to be quite marked up. You can easily research and book countless excursions online in advance these days, so why not save money and guarantee your preferences?
