Thailand has some really plush theaters. And the tickets are so much cheaper than western prices. Do know a couple of things before you go:
There is a tribute to the king before the film plays. I think it’s directly before the film starts, after all other advertisements. You are expected to stand up during this to show your respect. The Thai people highly revere the royal family and it is a punishable offense to say anything negative regarding the royal family.
Another thing you should know is that you buy tickets for specific seats in the theater. Make sure you sit in your seats. Once we sat one row ahead of where our tickets were because there were only 10 people in the theater and the film had already started. Well in come two latecomers. Apparently we were in their seat and the girl was really mad. The guy didn’t care, he just sat behind us, but she kept audibly complaining about it so we apologized and relocated. The guy seemed really embarrassed about her behavior.
Of course, we were in the wrong sitting in the wrong seats, but we are unfamiliar with this concept as it’s first come first serve in our local theaters, nor did we ever imagine it would be an issue since the theater was empty lol. Live and learn. Anyway, the theater is super fancy from the waiting area to the bathrooms. Check it out: definitely recommend coming here to have a fun movie date and escape the Bangkok heat bc they have ac on full whack here! More From Thailand:
