After seeing it advertised seemingly every week in the mail I finally triedOmaha Steaks...
Around the end of last year there were some seemingly great specials for Omaha Steaks. For about $100 shipped I received the following:
Ordering:
I found ordering to be a little cumbersome. Trying to order online the exact package that came on the flyer in the mail with the free shipping was tricky. Sometimes the additional "free" and "bonus" items seemed to change. I finally got it ordered on 12/28/17. The order shipped on 12/30/17 and I received it 1/4/18 via UPS. it came in a styrofoam cooler with lots of black ice packages.
Packaging:
I had no concerns about the meat being safe in transport. I hate having the waste of the styrofoam cooler and black ice packages after the fact, though. How many of these things do I need lying around in one house, you know?
I really enjoyed the cardboard boxes which were nicely labeled. They made my freezer look neat and organized instead of having random lumps of meat tossed in there awkwardly. It makes it much easier to see what you have on hand and use things up in a timely manner. I am now trying to figure out how I can keep these boxes, and maybe use some chalk label stickers for future meat storage. All products were nicely vacuum sealed for freshness and I liked the ones best that had an "easy open" sort of corner where you could peel the two sides apart without having to get out a knife or scissors. Quality:
I haven't used up all of the order just yet, but overall I have been really pleased with the meat quality and convenience of portion size and packaging. The apple tartlets were a pleasant treat and the potatoes were good too. I think the cooking times were low for the potatoes as mine were never quite as hot as I would have liked, but that could also be an oven issue. I will say that the Kielbasa gave me mad heartburn, though. I wouldn't really order that again... I was happy to have used up the last package of it.
Marketing:
My one major complaint is that the post-order marketing has been borderline harassment. Notice how I was receiving one OR MORE emails fromOmaha Steaks every stinking day! Seriously people!?
On the upside, when I did finally opt out of email communications, it took about one day for it to take effect and now it's one less company littering my inbox. :) Would I order Omaha Steaks again?
If the offerings were right, I would definitely order from Omaha Steaks or a similar program again. It was nice having the work of packaging everything to freeze done for you and I felt less stressed figuring out what to make for dinner. If I do order again I will immediately opt out of emails, though. That's just ridiculous guys.
Have you ever ordered from Omaha Steaks? Is there another similar company near you that you recommend?

People would always make a way just to feed their tummies. Well, there's no wrong in trying Omaha steaks! Actually, a lot of people have been talking about that lately, that's why the curiosity got even bigger! I noticed that it's a bit pricey. Plus the idea that the shipping takes a lot of days doesn't sound really cool for me. But I still have the desire to try it. Perhaps, when I am at the right mood! I am hoping that it's taste will be different if we will compare it to other steaks!
