So when it comes to things like leg hair, armpit hair, and the like.. If you choose to remove it your main options are shaving and waxing. Each has it's pros and cons. You can save a lot of money by waxing at home as the cost for the initial set up can be less than 1 visit to a professional (you will need: wax warmer, wax, muslin cloth, wooden spatulas or just get this all-in-one starter kit for $40) It's not for the faint of heart though, as it does hurt. Once you get the technique down, though, you'll be fine! The other option is shaving. Of course you can get an electric razor, normal razors with replaceable heads, or the true zero waste option would be a stainless steel 'safety' razor. You could also try an epilator...
What is an epilator?
An epilator is an electronic hair removal tool that basically has little tweezers built in automatically pluck out hairs as you roll the device over your skin. It looks much like an electric razor, only a tiny bit scarier. to be honest.
FAQ about Braun Silk-Epil 3-3270 Epilator Review
Testing the Braun Silk-Epil 3-3270 Epilator ReviewLegs:
I purposely skipped shaving for a few days before testing this.
It definitely stings/pinches. But I actually didn't find it to be so bad. Power through the initial sensation and you will be fine. Even in the first setting you get used to how it feels and it doesn't really hurt that much. Especially if you have done waxing before. The most important detail is to hold the skin as taut as you can. it makes it easier to grab and pluck out the hairs = faster process = less overall discomfort. Here are some unflattering before and after pictures: Testing the Braun Silk-Epil 3-3270 Epilator ReviewArmpits:
The armpits I find to be the most challenging and uncomfortable area to handle. It's mainly because it is very difficult to hold the skin taut when you're doing this on yourself. These hairs can also tend to be quite coarse. I found that I actually drew blood in this area after using the epilator. This sounds horrifying, but is actually potentially a good thing. An aesthetician once told me that when waxing if you see little blood dots on the muslin cloth that means that the hair really got out of the follicle totally (or something like that) I have no idea if that's true, but it sounded good to me and I believed it ever since. So hopefully that is still accurate! After finishing the armpits, my armpits burned. They were on fire. Seriously on fire.

I always find the upper lip difficult to wax and I think it's a combination of difficulty holding the skin taut and it being a sensitive area. I found it challenging at first to use the epilator on such a narrow area and get the skin taut. At the end, I found it less uncomfortable overall compared to waxing. It also worked a breeze on the little straggler hairs that show up embarrassingly on the chin sometimes.
Overall First Impressions of the Braun Silk -Epil 3-3270 Epilator & Tips
The Braun Silk-Epil 3-3270 epilator is a great low waste option for hair maintenance? personal care? hair care? Ugh. Words.
It's not zero waste, of course, as it is made of plastic and I'm not sure about the recyclable status of it. :( I still think it's an improvement over disposable razors. Even the ones that you replace the blades and keep the handle for a long time. For as long as this epilator will last, it will create less waste than those razors for sure. I like it over an electric razor, too, because it has the potential to minimize future hair growth! If the hair comes back thinner and you skipped epilating, it would be less noticeable than the coarse, pricey aftermath of using a razor. Would You Try TheBraun Silk-Epil 3-3270 Epilator?Pin me!
