Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer Review - Hokey Gimmick or Legit?

You know how 99% of in-home fitness equipment is the kind of thing you buy with great intentions, but end up using it as more of a clothing rack or dust collector than a tool to improve your health? *raises hand* Guilty.

Rebounder - haven't used it in ages.

Circle pilates thing - just found it in the corner of my closet.

Resistance bands - I don't even know where I put those although I should probably pack them for traveling.

Ironically, the only fitness equipment I use on a fairly consistent basis is a pair of 5 pound hand weights.

Simple things are the best, aren't they?

Like most people today, work keeps me at a desk for way longer than is healthy. So my little upper body5 pound weight routine isn't really helping out my legs and circulation as much as they need it. When I saw this little elliptical I was intrigued, but also thought "$90... that seems like a lot. Am I just going to be throwing away that $90?" I decided to go ahead and make the investment for my health and see how it went.

I'm happy to say that assembly of the Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer  was very simple. The box includes the only 2 tools you need, reminiscent of an IKEA assembly. From the left picture when everything was unboxed to the right picture fully assembled took exactly 12 leisurely minutes, referring to the instruction manual carefully with each step. Smooth sailing!

Function: Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer Review

The Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer works well and has spacious footpads. They advertise it as being "lightweight" and "easy to transport". This is true when compared to a full sized elliptical, but let's be real - I'm not going to be toting around a 30 pound piece of fitness equipment with me very often.
Some features I love:
  • The Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer has adjustable tension so you can make your work out more challenging as you get used to using the elliptical.
  • you can use the Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer sitting or standing.
  • you can pedal both forward and in reverse to work different muscles with the Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer
Some things to keep in mind:
  • You should note how tall your desk is, if you are using this under a desk. They recommend that the minimum space required is 24.5". I have an Ikea hack style desk ( Ikea Alex Drawer Unit with a Linnmon table top/desk top ) and that gives me 27 1/2" between the ground where my Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer rests and the desk top. This is a good amount of space for me, but there have been a few times when I was really engaged in pedally fast and my knees have bounced up and hit the underside of the desk top. So I recommend pedaling easily or having possibly a taller desk if you don't want to worry about it.

Cons about the Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer :
  • The brand new smell is strong. And it lasts long. I wish I would have wiped it down well and let it air outside. It's been a month and there is still some smell lingering in the office, even with using a Vornado fan to try to air the place out.
  • The Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer is starting to squeak a but already. I need to check to see if anything needs re-tightened or if it just needs some wd-40 applied.

One Month Review: Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer Review

One month in and I have to say that I am really happy with this investment. It is a great, low impact workout for your legs and I can feel my joints getting stronger. You can also work up quite a sweat doing this at your desk and really get your heart rate up. When I am full focused on pedaling I can easily get my heart rate up to 130 bpm or more, but just be careful you don't smack your knees!

I feel so much better physically and mentally using the Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer Review in my home office. I feel my circulation improved and I can see the effect of that on my productivity, performance, and attention to detail in my work.

I can definitely recommend the Stamina InMotion E1000 Compact Elliptical Trainer Review for your home office or your office office. Or in front of your couch while you binge watch Netflix or crochet a baby blanket.. whatever you do. :)

Growing up I thought I would never leave my home town, but in my 20's I caught the travel bug and if I'm not traveling you can bet I am dreaming about my next adventure.
