Discover Credit Card Dispute Customer Service Review:
One thing I love about the digital age and online banking is that if you have an issue, a lot of times it can be resolved online without having to wait on hold on the phone for ages. I found this to be true with a recent issue I encountered regarding a charge on my Discover Card.

Birkenstocks have been popular among travelers for quite some time, but the classic style was not appealing to me. In recent years, however, Birkenstock has branched out into a number of great looking styles. I decided to try the Gizeh model for my first pair. Yes, I said first pair. As in I can totally see myself getting more Birks in the future..
Customer Service Series Explanation: The market for almost any product today is very competitive and to me customer service is what really stands out and makes me want to be a loyal customer of any given brand, service, or company that fits my current needs and budget. That being said, periodically when I reach out to companies, I would like to share my experience with their customer service in case it helps protect you from a bad situation or gives you confidence to make a necessary purchase knowing the company really backs their product or service. Dollar Shave Club Customer Service:I recently signed up for Dollar Shave Club (*love*) and I recently had a question about my account, something I wanted to have adjusted. The chat agent was really friendly and eager to help. She let me know it would be no problem and the IT people would have to handle it, but that she would send me an email when it was completed. Later that afternoon she sent me an email apologizing that IT was no longer able to make the adjustment I had requested. (Bummer) Because of the inconvenience she added a $5 credit to my account so I could add something to my order before my next box ships and get $5 off. (Surprise!) I think this is great customer service. The initial interaction was great and efficient. The agent didn’t ignore me after the chat ended. She promptly kept me informed about the situation and when her hands were tied to deliver, she gave me a credit. As a customer, it made me feel valued. As a company it is smart because when I add a product whether it costs $5 or more, if I love it... I will keep buying it. So the credit is a good investment in their part ;) Either I will spend more money with them or, even if I don’t, I feel more loyal after the interaction. Thanks, Dollar Shave Club! I look forward to receiving many more of your blades in the mail. :) Click here to see more in the Customer Service Series.
Can I just say I love this little cart? Ikea sells the Raskog cart in their kitchen islands and carts section and it currently comes in beige, black, and red/brown. I swear it used to come in a gorgeous mint/blue shade at one point.
Anyways, I have it in black and it is awesome! Yes, you can use it as a kitchen cart. You can also use it as a bedside stand (Think PJS on a shelf, books on a shelf, and charging tech on another shelf, as just one example.) You can use it as a movable art cart. Keep all your supplies in one place and pull it to wherever you want to work that day whether the kitchen table, sofa, outside, wherever! Use it as a little TV table/end table if you don't have one. Cart cleaning supplies around on it. Display books, CDS, etc at a garage sale. There are endless options. The Raskog cart costs $24.99 on the Ikea website plus shipping if you don't live close by to pick it up. Shipping varies. You can also order it on Amazon with Prime shipping. The cost goes up to $50, but you will get it delivered to your door step in 2 days and have the awesome Amazon customer service behind you. It's big price difference, but for some people it may make sense. Do you have any other creative ideas for using these carts?
I recently did a post about Wool Dryer Balls. You probably knew about them already. BUT did you know about SOAP NUTS?!
You have probably heard of Dollar Shave Club already, but if you haven't... It's a razor subscription service that starts as low as $1/month (+$2 shipping and handling) for a 5 stainless steel twin blade cartridges. Awesome deal. If you want a few more blades you can upgrade from the Humble Twin to The 4X for $6 (free shipping) and you'll get 4 stainless steel 4-blade cartridges each month. If you're really serious about shaving you may like the Executive. You'll get 4 stainless steel 6-blade cartridges every month.
Dollar Shave Club Blade Choices:I couldn't resist buying purple potatoes recently, but once I got them home I wondered "What can I do with purple potatoes?" I mean, really, you can do anything with purple potatoes as any other color potato. Mash them, bake them, whatever! But I definitely google searched "purple potato recipes" and found this recipe for Purple Potato Latkes. I highly recommend trying it! I shredded the potatoes in my food processor so that was a snap and then fried the mixture until it was delightfully crisp on the outside and full of potatoey goodness on the inside. If you need a fun new recipe, give these a try! :)
2 months ago, I ordered some natural laundry stuff off of Amazon. I ordered some Inco Little Helpers Wool Dryer Balls & some NaturOli Soap Nuts ( Soap Berries?).
I wanted to give them some time of testing before I wrote a little post. I do 2-3 loads of laundry per week, over about 8 weeks... I thought that was a pretty decent length of time. So the Dryer Balls are a natural way to soften fabric without any chemical fabric softeners or disposable sheets. They come in a nice drawstring bag. I definitely feel my laundry has come out nice and fluffy and not static-y which is great! The listing says they don't make any noise during drying, but I kind of disagree. While the dryer cycles I can hear them hitting against the inside of the dryer. It isn't alarming or inconveniently loud, but it's definitely something I can hear. Just like if you have a big buckle or zipper that you hear clang against the door while it's drying... same kind of thing. My dryer is in an enclosed laundry nook anyways, so it's really not obtrusive. One great idea to freshen the scent of clothes is toadd a few drops of essential oils to these balls before tossing them in. I loved this suggestion, but found that no matter how many drops of oils I added to the dryer balls, I still couldn't smell them by the end of the cycle! I'm not sure if theorange oil I used was not good quality, or if I need to add them in the last few minutes of the dry cycle only. Do you have any tips? Overall I am very pleased with this eco-friendly laundry purchase and will absolutely continue to use these wool dryer balls. Stop by tomorrow for a post on the soap nuts! :o) Find It On Amazon:
The Bag:
This month there were three different ipsy bags. They each have a similar ombre style, with different color and different wording.:
Peace Love Lipstick, Wild & Free, and Good Vibes Only As you can see, I got the Good Vibes Only. In life, I think it's really important to be positive and spread positivity. There's always negativity dragging everyone down, so why add to it? Be the bright spot in someone's day! Let's Unbag!Shop Experience:
I don't care what you say, shopping for guys is challenging. You want to give a gift that is unique, meaningful, and something they will actually like and use. It's no easy feat. Alas! I have an idea for you!!
If you love things handcrafted from wood or are trying to find a gift for someone who does, check out this shop on Etsy: Kajzars Wood Work. They are located in Slovenia and make some gorgeous wooden cufflinks, earrings, necklaces, pens etc. The shop owner responds quickly and has good communication, keeping you updated as he custom makes your items and letting you know when they ship out. I wouldn't call the prices cheap, but considering that they are hand made and shipping is INCLUDED, I think it can be worth it if this is your style. Estimated shipping time is 10-14 business days from Slovenia to most places, so keep that in mind and order well in advance. That being said, my order came a lot faster than that. A great idea for a groomsman gift would be matching cufflinks to wear on the wedding day and beyond. Or their amazing wooden pens. My Order:
I love the way the earrings hang when you wear an updo.
For the cufflinks, I have to say I think the abalone ones are very special. The other ones are nice, but look much more shiny in the shop photos. If you hadn' t seen those photos you would probably think they were amazing as is though!! Pair these with a cool tie from Juanmarcos design, a great custom tie bar, and you have a awesome guy gift ready to go! In Summary:
If you love unique, wooden items and want to support a skilled craftsman, definitelycheck out Kajzars Woodwork Etsy Shop, Facebook Page, and Instagram. It's so much fun when a gift has an interesting background as to where it came from and who made it! <3

I got a cool lady I know a 1 year birchbox subscription and I'm going to give you a run down on what she thinks about it each month!

I finally did it. The insane. The unheard of. The completely uncharacteristic. After several years of staring, drooling, trying to choose a color.... I finally broke down and ordered the outrageously priced luxurious leather ballet flats -- Tieks.
Most people are not especially interested in modest swimwear, but if you are you know how difficult it can be to track down. Even a one piece is often cut in multiple ways that can make it quite showy.
I have lovedswim skirts as an option, but it can be annoying how the flowy skirt portion floats up to the surface of the water and besides, some of the skirted parts aren't even long enough to cover anything, but are more of a decoration! If you want the convenience of two pieces with modesty and functionality I recommend the swim short... or swim pant? or swim Capri? I wasn't sure how this would go so I ordered 3 options from Amazon that had free returns:
I found all three to be suitable options (pun intended)... :p
But I decided I liked the weight of the material best on the two from Private Island Hawaii Brand. It took me a while of deliberating. But since I plan to wear these with tankinis that adjust to swim dress length, I decided I liked the longer length ones. These also give me the option to easily go from pool and beach to shopping, traveling, touring, eating, etc without totally screaming "Hey Y'all, I'm in swimwear!" If you're looking for a modest, comfortable, and versatile swimwear option I think this style is a great bet!
I have to tell you I was skeptical when DH told me he signed up forHP's Instant Ink program. Basically you pay a certain amount of money per month to HP to print a certain number of pages. They automatically send you new cartridges as needed. I thought we were legit going to be getting ripped off every month.
(I was pleasantly surprised) "Supposedly" there was a substantial savings to this. See below:
I've been curious to try ipsy for a long time, but never went for it. I've gotten rid of quite a bit of old makeup and thought it would be a good time to try it. Anything I dont like will be removed immediately!!! Something about a little package of goodies coming each month is so exciting, a little present. But I don't want it to ruin my budget or take over all of the space I have created by decuttering recently. So begins my quest to have fun with ipsy and be balanced!

There's actually nothing in this bag that I am disappointed about! (and I am surprised at that!)
Also, I think the bag itself is very cute! I am soooo pleased with this ipsy bag. It cost $10, and the value in it was fabulous in my opinion. These are all items I will be using! Well done, ipsy! ;) I hope it's like this every month!! Try Ipsy

Over the last couple months I've been trying some skincare I bought from OZ Naturals off Amazon. I have tried quite a few of their products over the years and my absolute favorite hands down is still their Ancient Orient Rice Enzyme Dermafoliant. When I use this 2-3/week it seriously resurfaces my skin leaving it incredibly smooth and happy! It lasts a long time, but is something I would most definitely repurchase when I run out and something I have traveled with to the other side of the world TWICE. Even with carry-on only luggage, I needed to make space for this. (I did put it in smaller containers, but still..)
Okay wait, total ramble. That's not even one of the products I started this post about.. These are the three: OZ Naturals Super Youth Eye GelMilk Chocolate Toffee Pretzels vs Pumpkin Spice Yogurt PretzelsSomething about a salty, crunchy pretzel covered in something smooth and sweet seems just so desirable when you're rushing through the store and *starving*!
I recently treated the family to two different covered pretzels that our local Aldi's was carrying. |
