We're in the height of summer and this year I came to a sweaty realization ... I packed the wrong tees to visit southern Europe. It's no secret that it's been especially blazing hot this year and I learned the hard way that choosing the right tees depends on a combination of fabric, weight, and weave.

The slub fabric tees are new for Mott and Bow this summer 2023. These tees are 100% cotton slub jersey fabric. I really prefer natural fibers these days as much as possible, so I was happy to see this 100% cotton summer tee available!
What is slub cotton? It's a particular cotton weave style that adds a feathering effect to the finished garment due to added texture on the reverse side of the fabric. Since the fabric isn't one solid weave, but has variations in it (you'll see what I mean in the pictures), it makes a great option for summer because it is super lightweight and breathable! TL;DR: Mott and Bow's Classic Crew Slub Tee is a dream, lightweight summer t shirt for women that's timeless with quality finishings, and not too sheer!
First I would like to draw attention to the detailed finishing of the classic crew slub women's tee from Mott and bow. Notice the flat laying, thick (but not too thick) neckline of this tee and the neat double row of stitching. Also notice the lovely stitching on the sleeve.
TBH, I don't know a lot about sewing and the names of these stitches/finishes, but the more garments you look at and review the more readily you recognize quality finishes that are well executed. 
The shape of the sleeve is a detail I am particularly a fan of. It has room, but it's also tailored to be at an angle. I feel this is a really flattering sleeve shape for me. Further when t shirts have longer and baggier short sleeves, not only do my little twig arms look like they are drowning in fabric, but also it can be harder to dress them up, imo.
This is a classic women's light blue jean and white tee outfit, tucked and untucked.

Mott & Bow Relaxed Slub Tank Tee in White XS
TL;DR: Very relaxed fit, large arm holes. If you're the sporty type, this is all you girl!
This style oftank tee is a departure from my usual style. Of course the fit is relaxed and a bit boxy. I appreciate the slight angling of the sleeves! (which.. this is a sleeveless tee, but you know what I mean right?)
The finishings of this slub tank are on par with the classic crew slub tee. I like to see that consistency in a brand. In terms of my style, I like the look of this best with a little angled twist through the belt loop. What do you think? I like the added shape it gives!
When will I wear this slub tank tee? You'll probably catch me in this summer t shirt when I'm chilling outside this summer, to the pool or beach. Also would be great with leggings or bike shirts for a jog! This tee is breezy baby! 
This is a casual women's outfit - white tank with light blue high waisted skinny jeans.

Mott & Bow Fitted V Neck Marcy Tee in Olive XS
Mott and Bow's Marcy Tees are a crowd favorite and available in a ton of colors both as a V neck and crew neck. I thought it would be helpful of you to see a comparison if you're trying to decide which Mott and bow t shirt is best.
TL;DR: Love. This. Tee. Perfect everyday tee, but a step up!
First of all, the color is chef's kiss. A light olive that is a perfect neutral and I think it's a great color that goes well with the leopard print shoes, no? :)
And once again, note the finishings. Loveeee! 
The composition of the Marcy Tees is different than the slub tees. The Marcy tee is 50% pima cotton and 50% modal. This means two very important things.
1. These tees are delightfully soft. Soft as a cloud. They feel so so so nice on your skin and I think the fabric blend makes them feel a step up. They aren't just a "basic tee", they are worthy of your date night out! 2. There is a possibility that they could pill sooner than your cheap cotton tees, depending on your use case. I can't say for sure because I haven't had these long enough yet, I'm just speaking from experience with other modal tees. Let's see! 
This summer outfit idea is simple and elevated - an olive v neck modal tee with blue denim, rolled at the ankles, and leopard print slip on sneakers for character!

A Note on Sizing
I found that XS was the right size for me in each of these tees.
Pro Tip: Always consider the combination of recommended size and fit when you ordering your clothing! For instance, if something is an oversized fit and they recommend on size, but you prefer a less oversized look - you may size down. Or if something is a fitted style, but you prefer a less fitted look, you may choose to size up. 
I also thought you may find it interesting to see the shapes and lengths of the shirts, sleeves included, when compared to one another. :)
A Note on Opacity
Finally a note on opacity. Are these slub tee shirts see through? Are they sheer?
The slub cotton is a lightweight, breathable material perfect for summer. The slub style gives an irregular/feathering fabric finish where some spots are thicker and others thinner, creating that cool textured look. I would always recommend a skin toned bra with light colored clothing. Here is a comparison from skin toned to black for your info.
