Encircled Clothing Review: The Performance Pencil Skirt Review
I absolutely love the look of the performance pencil skirt. It’s totally up my alley as a regular skirt wearer. I know this has been thoughtfully designed to not be a constricting pencil skirt, but a comfortable pencil skirt that you can actually move in. While I appreciate the incorporation of the slit for easy movement, I really have to see this piece in person to decide if it’s right for me. The model is a good 5” taller than I am, so it’s possible that the slit would be okay for me, but I really prefer not to have slits above the knee. There are some really elegant ways to add movability into a pencil skirt via slits/splits without showing more skin based on how the slit is designed and constructed. I do also have pencil skirts that offer plenty of movability without having a slit at all, so I think it’s more of a style and design choice and I’m really curious to see one in person and see where/how that slit falls on me!
This is a pencil skirt with pockets. Well, a pocket. I think the hidden pocket is so cool, but I honestly haven’t used it at all in my other encircled pieces, so I’m not sure I would use it on this performance pencil skirt either. Of course, I get that everyone wants pockets in everything and it’s really hard to make a pencil skirt with pockets that are useful and flattering, so… good compromise.
Will you be trying the new Performance Pencil Skirt from Encircled? Let me know what you think! The Performance Work Dress.

Encircled Clothing Review: The Performance Work Dress Review
The Performance Work Dress is another piece that is totally up my alley. I’m excited to try the new fabric for this performance workwear line because I think it maybe the key to really being comfortable in encircled dresses and skirts! Let me explain… All of Encircled’s dresses and skirts that I’ve tried are comfortable. Their usual fabrics are amazingly soft, making them instantly comfortable. But comfort isn’t just the feel of fabric on your skin, it’s how you feel when you wear a peace, including the feeling of being at ease. Sometimes with beautiful modal fabrics while they certainly drape beautifully, they can also cling in ways you don’t necessarily want.
The Previous All Day Work Dress from encircled was amazing and is one of my favorite dresses to this day. It was a thicker micromodal/Lycra blend than other garments from the brand and had an under layer which really helped reduce the clinging affect on a slim fitting dress style. All that to say.. I think this new fabric blend may offer just the right amount of structure to put me at ease while retaining some flowy movement, and who doesn’t want that?
My personal hesitations with the piece: I love a boatneck style, but often times find them to be too wide for my frame. Or, even if the width is okay, bra-straps poking out drive me crazy and take away from the refined boatneck style. (Love when a garment has those little snaps to keep your bra straps in place!) So for The Performance Work Dress , I’d definitely need to try it on to see how the neckline sits on my body and, of course, I’m always interested in the length being at the knee or below. Personal preference :-)
Encircled Performance Workwear Line Overall Thoughts.
I’m really excited to see this new line from encircled and can’t wait to see what other pieces they release. Dying to find the perfect structured blazer. (And, incidentally, still on the fence about what a perfect blazer means for me and my wardrobe / personal style)
I imagine this new fabric which contains polyester, has been a tough call for the brand which focuses on eco friendly materials, ethical labor, and overall sustainability. But… that’s just it. Overall sustainability…. The most sustainable clothing pieces are the ones you wear and love year after year. And sometimes the most eco friendly fabrics don’t hold up as well and as a result you may not get as many years of wear out of those pieces. That’s part of the picture to consider as well. Pieces like the Performance Pencil Skirt and the Performance Work Dress have timeless designs and if the fabric blend holds up longer, provides structure, and resists wrinkles… you have to factor that in for sure. ;)
Congrats on the new launch, encircled! I know it’s going to be a hit! Check Out These Deals:

Today encircled is launching a new and v cute jumpsuit that is comfy, convertible, and all the things you'll love. Straps can be tied 5+ ways (my head is always imagining the additional possibilities), comfy sustainable fabric, cropped length to keep you cool, and, of course... pockets!!
The design is called The Comfy Convertible Jumpsuit #comfyconvertiblejumpsuit - if you order one share your styling with this hashtag, I really would love to see! Looks like it is coming in black and a lovely olive green! *squeal* Consider layering a tee underneath this jumpsuit or adding a cardigan or blazer on top to mix it up. Adding a belt and pumps or a cap and sneakers will make it dressy or casual. Lots of options!

Between 2020 being what it was and Kristi & her team's dedication to only putting out their absolute best, I have a feeling this design is going to be more than worth the wait. Let's get into it!

The Love-Hate Relationship Between Women and Button Up Shirts
The silhouette of a button up is absolutely classic. Great on it's own with pants or skirts, layered under sweaters or dresses, even tied in a knot for more of a casual-chic vibe. Basically, it's a go to if you want to feel put together and confident. Or is it?
It's hard for most people to get a good fit in a button up. Materials are often uncomfortable. And don't even get us started on buttons gaping open and giving anyone next to you an eyeful.. Let's compare some design elements of traditional button ups with The Comfy Button Up. The Collar

Other Style Details of the Comfy Button Up I Love
If you've followed encircled for a while you probably enjoy the journey because you learn a lot of what goes into making a garment. You see behind the scenes and you have more appreciation for what you wear. You'll also agree that encircled loves to listen to their customers, get feedback, and update designs. It's fun to see favorite design elements from various garments be fused together into something new! The back yoke seam was a lovely design feature on the Fair Long Sleeve and later the Comfy Dress Shirt (how to style here). The Comfy Button Up also looks to feature those beautifully designed sleeves, that gather so nicely at the cuff. Can't wait to get a close up of the buttons too. I know from social encircled had a hard time getting buttons that aligned with their values, but they were persistent and successful!
What Are The Differences Between The Comfy Button Up Shirt and The Comfy Dress Shirt?
Other than that, fit is the same and I think the other design elements are the same more or less!
