This fall I fell in love with Mott and Bow's super comfy high rise black skinny jeans (Bond Jean - review here, shop here). The first pair of high rise jeans I've owned and the first pair of black jeans. They felt so chic.
Mott And Bow Women's High Waisted Skinny Jean Review - Beekman
These cotton blue jeans are made of 95% cotton, 4% poly, 1% elastane. They are a heavier weight jean than the Bond and definitely have less give, but they look so, so good!

After your first wear you will settle right into these light blue jeans. I love the wash on these as it feels classic and timeless and adds a pair of lighter pants into my closet which is predominately black and dark blue. The ankle opening is quite narrow (as you'd expect for skinny jeans) so if that is a concern for you, but you want a lighter wash jean, you may want to try the Mott & Bow Jane Jean.

--> Mott and Bow Reviews
I recently tried the mid-rise skinny jean from Everlane and the overall fit is okay, but as soon as I pulled the Bond jean on and buttoned it I just felt understood. That's the only way I can explain it. The fit is excellent for my body shape and preference. There's no gap at my waist like I normally experience. The Bond jean's balance of stretch and structure is ideal.
Mott & Bow Light Ribbed Cotton/Cashmere Crew - Emma Black.
Mott & Bow Light Ribbed Cotton/Cashmere V Neck - Emma Ivory.
Shown below with a quince silk cami underneath, as I find the V neck just a bit too open for my comfort.
As with most light colored and light weighted sweaters and tops, it's not going to be as opaque as the black... obviously! If this has an impact on purchasing decisions, take a look at my shoulder in the photo. You'll be able to see the cami and a dark strap beneath. With a flesh toned bra, you'll always do better!
Mott & Bow Cashmere Oversized V Neck - Willow Oxblood.
A fun way to get more versatility from your wardrobe is also to try wearing things in reverse. It won't work with every piece, but I think it works great with the Willow sweater. It gives you a high neckline in the front and a dip in the back, which I always think is somehow elegant? Also makes for a great opportunity to show off your favorite lariat necklaces.
