Just came across this cool Kickstarter called Kiima.
It caught my eye because I like to DIY my deodorant and have been doing so for a couple years now. I have been using some cardboard compostable deodorant tubes I got on etsy and they serve their purpose well, but there are a couple things I don't love:
1. The outside gets greasy looking.
2. you have to push a flat disc of cardboard from the bottom to raise the deodorant up. It sometimes gets crooked and it's just more cumbersome than a traditional deodorant tube.
It's still a great option and the negatives are minor when you can save so much wasted plastic, but I see how a product like Kiima could be a really awesome and long lasting upgrade. You can buy deodorant refill pods or you can get the DY kit that comes with a mold for making your own! Awesome!
